According to the National Directory for Catechesis, the fundamental task of Catechesis is the formation of disciples of Jesus Christ. “Jesus instructed his disciples; he prayed with them; he showed them how to live; and he gave them his mission… Faith must be celebrated, lived, and expressed in prayer.”
Religious Formation at St. Elizabeth Seton is designed based on this model of catechesis. Classes meet throughout the school year for children ages 3 through high school and follow th curriculum of the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana. Click here for more information on the curriculum.
It is expected that children participate in both Religious Formation and Sunday Mass.
Kindergarten uses the Allelu! textbook series by Our Sunday Visitor. Click here for more information. Grades 1-5 use the Finding God series by Loyola Press. Click here for more information on the textbook series.
