As part of our Seton Engaged initiative, we distributed Seton Expectation pocket cards during Mass on April 10th and 11th. “Expectations” was determined as one of three areas of focus by from the Member Engagement survey this past fall.
The Pocket Cards were developed through the Seton Dialogue on Expectations, a process to understand what our parishioners felt should be the expectations for parishioners and the parish.
The Pocket Cards
Front – The logo on the front of the card symbolizes the commitment between the parishioners and the Church. The arrows pointing to and away from the Eucharist also emphasize our responsibility to be living role models of faith – not only in our parish, but in our community as well.
Parishioner Expectations – The five expectations will not be major surprises, but they do provide clarity for all. Based on feedback, we chose to not state exact amounts or numbers, but rather focused on each individual prayerfully discerning their role. The five areas enable us collectively to live out our mission.
Parish Expectations – The five expectations align to the Parishioner expectations. The parish staff and different ministries will review these and intentionally coordinate as ministries to provide a positive environment and opportunities for our parishioners
Back – This page has the stated mission of Seton as well as our address and website. This makes these cards options to pass out to others to invite them to join us.
What are we asking you to do?
Self Assessment and Reinforcement – As a parishioner of Seton, we ask you to pick up a card in the office and refer to it often as you consider your spiritual growth and the role you play at Seton. All of us have a role to play to help live out or mission at Seton. These cards can be used as a self assessment as well as a reinforcement of what is expected of us as parishioners.
Use Cards to Invite Others – You are also welcome to take multiple cards and share them with others as a way to invite them to our community. The address and website are on the back side of the card for easy reference.
Thank you for your commitment to grow in faith and live out the mission of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church as a parish and as individual parishioners.
