A Way of Christian Life

At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, we believe that stewardship begins with the recognition that everything we have comes from God. In return, we are grateful, and in thanksgiving we give back to God by sharing our gifts, generously. The vitality of parish life is a reflection of its parishioners committment to contributing their time, talent and treasure where needed.

U.S. Catholic Bishops define a Christian steward as "One who receives God's gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible manner, shares them in justice and love with all, and reutrns them with increase to the Lord." ("Stewardship - A Disciple Response", U.S. Bishops Pastoral Letter on Stewardship, 1997).

Stewardship of Time & Talent

In the Spring, we ask our parishioners to volunteer their time and talent to any of the 60-plus ministries in the parish, or to simply share a particular talent where needed.

pope francis"We are in the time of action - the time in which to put to use the gifts of God not for ourselves, but for Him, for the Church, for others, the time during which always to try to increase the good in the world....It is important not to close in upon oneself, burying one's talent, one’s own spiritual, intellectual, material riches, everything that the Lord has given us, but to open oneself, to be in solidarity, to be attentive to the other.”                                          Pope Francis, April 25, 2013

Mindful of this compelling call to action from Pope Francis, the St. Elizabeth Seton Stewardship Council is seeking parishioners who are interested in becoming members and serving the good of the parish. Along with the Pastoral Council and Finance Council, Father Ted relies on the Stewardship Council to continually move forward in fulfilling our parish’s mission statement through the effective utilization of our gifts of time, talent and treasure.

“Life is not given to us to be jealously guarded for ourselves, but is given to us so that we may give it in turn.”
